(January 2012).
The Navajo have a tradition of celebrating a child's first expression of joy, «child's first laugh ceremony». Babies, when they come to the world, are in between 2 worlds, the world of human beings, and the world of holy creatures, god and goddess. They don't know how to speak, and they are not «completely» here, but they do know how to speak with all this holy crowd. By the first laugh, they finally arrive on our planet, embracing human society. By laughing the child states his readiness to enter mortal human world. The circumstances of this first laugh are important, the giver, the receiver, but also everyone who witnesses it, cause it supposes to tell some of the personnality of the child.
